Behind the Bunhouse: The Mystery Jets
Another band which lacks the reputation and recognition that it clearly deserves is the five piece indie band, The Mystery Jets. Although belonging to the indie genre, some others also believe that the Jets' songs contain themes which belong to post-punk revival, new prog or the synonymous thamesbeat which is becoming ever more popular in England as the phase of the 80's punk revival grows.
The band acheived a moderate level of recognition when their hit song "Two Doors Down" Reached number 24 on the UK charts in 2008. The song itself contained sounds and musical techniques which would immediately conjure up memories of 80's mod/rocker for older generations while at the same time having an upbeat rhythm and tempo which could be appreciated by the younger generations.
Nowadays, The band tours around the world playing songs from their past 3 ablums and hosting Parties, such as "The White Cross Revival", on Eel Pie Island.The parties, featuring as many bands as possible on one stage each night, have played host to the likes of Good Shoes, Dr Filth, Jamie T, The Noisettes, Les Incompetents and many more.
I would recommend this band to anyone and everyone, not because of its genre, but simply for the fact that every song contains an entirely different mood and the subjects in the song can be easily related to the everyday person. My favourite song would be another one from the Album Twenty One named Behind The Bunhouse

Pulp
A mix of "celtic Yobs" and art-school wits, Pulp Created a culturally momentous update of old school glam. But Joining Londons Glitterati fragmented them.
Starting as an English alternative Rock band that formed in sheffield in 1978, pulp performed for quite a long time before being widely recognised and securing a position as one of the major figures of the britpop movement of 1990.
Their lyrics, consisting of themes social realism combined with a muscial style that can only be described as a mix bewtween pop rock and disco helped them to sell over 10 million records as of 2003, the best selling album "different class" being the most popular.
Most people would autmoatically think of the song "common people" when asked about Pulp, but if asked myself which song is the best, i would pick "the Birds in Your Garden"
Cocker was involved in a number of one-offs and side projects, including the group Relaxed Muscle with Jason Buckle and the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where he fronted a group which included Steve Mackey and members of Radiohead. Also in 2007, Cocker appeared on Air's album Pocket Symphony giving vocals to the two tracks "One Hell Of A Party" and "The Duelist". His first solo album Jarvis, with the participation of Mackey, was released to critical acclaim in November 2006. Also, Candida Doyle has performed live with Cocker on his solo tours. Mackey has produced tracks on the debut album by M.I.A., Arular and on Someone To Drive You Home by The Long Blondes, both of which were critically well-received. He has also produced tracks for Bromheads Jacket and Florence + The Machine.
On 11 September 2006 the band re-released three of their albums (His 'n' Hers, Different Class, and This Is Hardcore), each with a bonus disc of B-sides, demos and rarities. On 23 October, 2006 a 2CD set compiling all of Pulp's John Peel Sessions from 1982 to 2001 was released. In a March 2007 interview with magazine The Trip Wire, Cocker was sceptical about Pulp's future, saying he wasn't against it completely, but couldn't see a point in reuniting the band at the moment.
In June 2009, Cocker stated in an article in The Sun that he had no intention of reuniting the band but suggested that a financial incentive might sway him. He added that he would be watching how well Blur's comeback performances would be received at the Glastonbury Festival.
In October 2009, The People reported that Pulp were considering playing Glastonbury 2010. Cocker said "Glastonbury means an awful lot to me, I would love to play there again," he said. "We've talked about it, there we go, there'll be a band reunion." However, Cocker soon denied the rumours. He told Teletext: "Pulp have no plans to get back together... Someone asked me if I fancied playing at the 40th anniversary of Glastonbury, I said yes, they twisted that into a 'Pulp reform' story. It's not true."

Eels (often typeset as eels or EELS) is an American rock band formed by singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, better known as E. Other members rotate frequently, both in the studio and on stage. Eels' live shows include new material, interpretations of older songs, and usually some well-known cover versions.

Belle & Sebastian are an indie pop band formed in Glasgow, Scotland in January 1996. They are one of the best-known Scottish bandsand are one of the most celebrated groups of the 1990s. Belle & Sebastian are often compared to influential indie bands such as The Smiths, as well as classic acts such as Love, Bob Dylan and Nick Drake. The name Belle & Sebastian is inspired by Belle et Sébastien, a children's book by French writer Cécile Aubry.Lauded by critics, Belle & Sebastian's "wistful pop" has nevertheless enjoyed only limited commercial success.
After releasing a number of albums and EPs on Jeepster Records, they are now signed to Rough Trade Records in the United Kingdom and Matador Records in the United States.
Donovan
Donovan (Donovan Phillips Leitch, born 10 May 1946, in Maryhill, Glasgow), is a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist. Emerging from the British folk scene, he developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music. Donovan came to fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with a series of live performances on the pop TV series, Ready Steady Go!, and his popularity spread to the USA and other countries. After signing with the British label, Pye Records in 1965, he recorded a handful of singles and two albums in the folk music vein. After extricating himself from his original management contract, he began a long and successful collaboration with leading independent record producer Mickie Most, scoring a string of hits in the UK, the USA, Australia and other countries, including several British and American #1 hits and million-selling records. Donovan was the first artist to be signed to CBS/Epic Records by then-new Administrative Vice President Clive Davis, who later became head of the CBS Record empire.
Donovan was one of the leading British recording artists of his day. He produced a series of hit albums and singles between 1965 and 1970. He became a friend of leading pop musicians including Joan Baez, Brian Jones, Bruce Springsteen, and The Beatles, and was one of the few artists to collaborate on songs with the Beatles. He influenced both John Lennon and Paul McCartney when he taught them his finger-picking guitar style in 1968.[1] Donovan's commercial fortunes waned after he parted ways with Mickie Most in 1969, and he left the music industry for a time.
He continued to perform and record sporadically in the 1970s and 1980s, but gradually fell from favour. His gentle musical style and hippie image was scorned by critics, especially after the advent of punk rock. Donovan withdrew from performing and recording several times during his career, but he underwent a revival in the 1990s with the emergence of the rave scene in Britain. Late in the decade, he recorded an album with producer and long-time fan Rick Rubin and released a new album, Beat Cafe, in 2004.
